Pizza Dough


  • 2 teaspoons dry yeast
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons warm water
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ cup warm water, extra


  1. Combine yeast, sugar and 2 tablespoons of warm water.

  2. Set aside in a warm place. Place flour and salt in large mixing bowl and make well in centre.

  3. Add yeast mixture and mix with just enough warm water to form a rough ball.

  4. Turn out onto lightly floured board and knead for 5-10 minutes until smooth.

  5. Place dough in clean bowl brushed with olive oil. Lightly brush dough with remaining oil.

  6. Cover with plastic wrap. Rest for 1-2 hours, allowing dough to double in size.
