- 2 teaspoons dry yeast
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons warm water
- 2 cups plain flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ cup warm water, extra
Combine yeast, sugar and 2 tablespoons of warm water.
Set aside in a warm place. Place flour and salt in large mixing bowl and make well in centre.
Add yeast mixture and mix with just enough warm water to form a rough ball.
Turn out onto lightly floured board and knead for 5-10 minutes until smooth.
Place dough in clean bowl brushed with olive oil. Lightly brush dough with remaining oil.
Cover with plastic wrap. Rest for 1-2 hours, allowing dough to double in size.
